Davida Gilchrest is the CEO/Founder of KCS (Keeping Communities Safe Youth Mentoring). At KCS, which is now located in Ossining, New York she speaks with youth in the Westchester County Community on important issues such as gang prevention, teenage pregnancy, hygiene, respecting authority, incarceration, insecurity, envy and much more.
KCS also provides many other services to the community as well.
Ms. Gilchrest has worked with youth at the Peekskill Youth Bureau, as the Site Director for Positive Futures Academy After School Program in the Yonkers School District for the Nepperhan Community Center and Ms. Gilchrest is the Director for the Peekskill Community Action Partnership.
Ms. Gilchrest has always had diverse interests in mentoring, communications/marketing, public speaking, and music, displaying her talents through writing numerous original R&B songs, and poetry, dancing in The Kiss FM Master Mix Show, and coming in as 4th Runner Up in the 2001 Miss New York State Pageant. She also appeared in an article in Braid hair magazine in 1999.
Career and Education
In her business life, Ms. Gilchrest served as the Senior Business Manager/Marketing Manager for Prestige Entertainment, currently known as Victory2MultiMedia, where she prepared and implemented marketing plans and secured funds from the public sector in collaboration with the President/CEO. She started 4Real Entertainment in 1999, while maintaining a full-time position at IBM Corporation in Global Financing in the HR Strategy division.
Ms. Gilchrest holds an Associates of Arts in Business, Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management from the University of Phoenix and a Masters in Business Administration. Certified in suicide prevention, Early Intervention and worked as a Drug Safety Specialist for clients with Multiple Sclerosis. Experienced as a Residency Coordinator at Westchester Medical Center in the Anesthesia department and worked in the OR/ Perioperative division. Youth Counselor/Advocate and Domestic Violence Advocate/Counselor. Ms. Gilchrest has also done paralegal work in Personal Injury Criminal Law, Immigration Law, and Real Estate.
Motivated deeply by her religion, Ms. Gilchrest is a faithful member of Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church, a Board Member of the Martin Luther King Institute, a member on the fundraising committee, a loving mother, a hard-working entrepreneur, and a savvy businesswoman. Her trials have made her stronger and wiser, ready to tackle life’s obstacles head-on. She epitomizes “A True Proverbs 31 Woman.
